COVID-19: CNYCF and Philanthropy Center Update
As local businesses and nonprofit organizations regain their footing during the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the health and safety of our partners, staff, and neighbors remain our top priorities. We are taking precautions in a way that allows us to continue our work, help those in need of resources and contribute to efforts that will limit the spread of the virus.
Below you will find updates on steps the Central New York Community Foundation and CNY Philanthropy Center are taking to operate safely.
11/5/2020 Update: Through March 31, 2021, the Community Foundation will continue to work primarily virtually, while a limited number of staff will work from our office on a rotating basis. This will allow us to adhere to social distancing protocols put forth by the CDC and local, state and federal governments while also continuing to serve you to our highest standard of quality and integrity. While the CNY Philanthropy Center remains closed to external events and meetings, our meeting rooms are open only for CNY Philanthropy Center tenants to hold essential meetings that are within New York State’s guidelines, upon review of the organization’s reopen plans. Tenant-sponsored third-party events and meetings are not currently allowed.
In addition, we have implemented the following protocols to ensure the CNY Philanthropy Center is a safe place for our staff and tenants to work.
- All external organizations’ meetings and events at the CNY Philanthropy Center are cancelled until further notice. We will continue to reassess based on the most current information.
- All CNYCF-hosted events will be hosted in a virtual environment through March 31, 2021.
- Employees are asked to comply with physical distancing requirements and proper hand hygiene. These efforts include keeping a distance of 6 feet between persons, wearing a mask when outside of their designated work space or office, utilizing hand hygiene stations and keeping room occupancy below 50% maximum capacity.
- Meetings are held via tele- or video-conferencing as much as possible. Any in-person meetings are held in open, well-ventilated spaces with appropriate social distancing capabilities.
- Employees and essential visitors are required to respond to a mandatory health screening assessment each day before entering the building.
- A log is maintained of every person, including staff, tenants and visitors who may have close contact with other individuals in the office.
- If a worker tests positive for COVID-19, we will immediately notify state and local health departments and cooperate with contact tracing efforts.
