Help Victims of the California Wildfires

In November 2018, wildfires throughout the state of California killed three people, displaced hundreds of thousands of residents and destroyed acres of wildlife. Below are links to some organizations that are directing funds to relief efforts.

For donors wishing to direct financial support toward relief efforts:

State Wide

California Fire Foundation

The California Fire Foundation, a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization, provides emotional and financial assistance to families of fallen firefighters, firefighters and the communities they protect.

Center for Disaster Philanthropy

Northern California

Northern California Wildfire Relief – California Community Foundation (has a fund set up and their website has a nice list of region-wide and county-wide organizations)

Schools Fire Relief Fund – Butte County Office of Education

Fund Purpose – The Butte County Office of Education created the Schools Fire Relief Fund to provide a one-stop location where individuals or organizations could provide support directly to schools in Butte County. BCOE will allocate donations to school districts in an amount proportional to the number of students that lost homes within those districts. Schools will have the discretion to spend this money as they see fit once they receive it.

United Way of Northern California

We are specifically providing emergency cash assistance and gift cards to those who lost their home. This cash aid is provided to help individuals move on from the shelters and is typically used to help find temporary/permanent housing, make up for lost work wages, cover transportation and relocation costs as well as extra money for food, gas etc.
