Hurricane Florence

For donors wishing to direct financial support toward relief efforts:

Region-wide

  • The American Red Cross is providing emergency shelters, supplies and vehicles and mobilizing thousands of disaster workers in communities affected by the storm.
  • Team Rubicon is providing rescue and recovery equipment in communities along the coast and activating nearly 10,000 volunteers in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Georgia to assist with response efforts.
  • Operation USA is providing emergency supplies, medical equipment and other support while assessing long-term relief needs for communities affected by the storm.
  • Americares is providing emergency medicine, supplies and other humanitarian aid for victims of the hurricane.


North Carolina

  • The North Carolina Community Foundation’s Disaster Relief Fund supports programs that help hurricane victims in impacted communities throughout the state.
  • Foundation for the Carolinas’ Hurricane Florence Response Fund provides relief funds to nonprofits providing support and recovery aid to those affected by the storm.
  • The Outer Banks Community Foundation’s Disaster Relief Fund supports programs that provide emergency food, shelter, supplies and health care to hurricane victims in the Outer Banks/Dare County region.
  • ReadyNC offers information for what to do in the aftermath of  the storm, along with links to evacuation and government recovery agencies.
  • FEMA provides immediate and long-term assistance for those who have been affected by the hurricane.
  • The North Carolina Department of Public Safety offers links to evacuation information, food assistance, public shelters and storm recovery help.


South Carolina

  • The Central Carolina Community Foundation’s One SC Fund provides relief and recovery assistance to individuals and communities state-wide that have been affected by the storm.
  • The Coastal Community Foundation’s Disaster Relief Fund offers immediate and long-term relief for hurricane victims in Beaufort, Berkeley, Charleston, Colleton, Dorchester, Hampton and Jasper Counties.
  • The Waccamaw Community Foundation’s WCF Disaster Relief Fund provides emergency assistance to impacted communities in Georgetown, Horry and Williamsburg Counties.
  • The South Carolina Hurricane Guide offers comprehensive information and resources in English and Spanish on emergency preparedness, disaster survival and recovery and relief.
  • FEMA provides immediate and long-term assistance for those who have been affected by the hurricane.
