Pulaski Endowment Fund Raises Record Amount in 2008
January 7, 2009 (Pulaski, NY) – The Greater Pulaski Community Endowment Fund raised $15,115 in its 2008 fundraising drive which is the most raised in a single year by the fund since its inception in 1992. Eighty gifts from private and individual business contributors helped the Fund’s Advisory Committee reach the $15,000 matching challenge from the John Ben Snow Memorial Trust, bringing the total raised this year to $30,115. This year’s contributions also included the largest single donation in the fund’s history – $5,000 from The Fulton Companies, a global manufacturer of heat transfer products that is headquartered in Pulaski.
Nearly 13% of the contributions received this year were from donors who had never given to the Fund before. “I think this speaks to the level at which the Pulaski Fund and its mission are becoming familiar to the local community,” said Nancy Farrell, Pulaski Fund Advisory Committee Chair. “It is always exciting to see new donors becoming engaged in the mission of the Fund, and we hope that many of these donors will continue to think of the Pulaski Fund as a worthy outlet for their giving.”
The Greater Pulaski Community Endowment Fund was established in 1992 to provide financial resources to the nonprofit organizations of the Village of Pulaski and Town of Richland. Since the Fund’s inception, more than $150,000 in grants made a significant impact on the arts & culture, community development, education, environment, health and human services programming of the area. In 2008, grant totaling $19,600 were awarded to Richland Fire Department, Preservation & Revitalization of Pulaski, Pulaski Historical Society, Town of Richland, Unity Acres, Village of Pulaski, Pulaski Area Pop Warner Association, Oswego County Opportunities, Salmon River International Sport Fishing Museum and Pulaski French Club.
The Fund was established as a union of gifts contributed by the people of the Pulaski community. It makes grants to support programs and projects of importance to the Pulaski area. Since inception, the John Ben Snow Memorial Trust has been a great supporter in growing the fund. As a fundraising incentive to the Advisory Committee, the Trust has also pledged matching funds to the total contributed from individual and business donors for the past 10 years. For the past 10 years, that goal has been met.
